1. Scope and acceptance
By using CheeseVerse you agree to these terms. The platform provides cheese information, community reviews, personal cheese lists, discovery tools and cheese-focused games.
CheeseVerse is offered as a community project. You may browse public cheese information and public contributions without an account; an account is required for writing, saving, liking, commenting and following.
2. Accounts and security
- Use accurate registration information and keep your password private.
- Choose a username that is not abusive, discriminatory, impersonating or misleading.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
- CheeseVerse may restrict or remove accounts used for abuse, spam, fraud or attempts to damage the service.
3. Reviews, posts and comments
You retain ownership of text you submit. By publishing it, you give CheeseVerse permission to display it on the platform and in connected discovery surfaces such as cheese profiles, feeds and member pages.
Write from your own experience. Do not submit copyrighted material you do not have permission to use, private information about other people, deceptive commercial promotion or automated spam. Purchase locations and pairing notes should be relevant to the cheese being reviewed.
4. Community rules
CheeseVerse is for curious people with different tastes and levels of knowledge. Disagreement about cheese is welcome; attacks on people are not.
- No harassment, threats, hate speech, slurs or targeted humiliation.
- No sexual content involving minors, illegal content or instructions that put people at risk.
- No doxxing or sharing another person’s private details.
- No review manipulation, vote brigading, impersonation or undisclosed commercial endorsements.
- Keep comments connected to the review or cheese being discussed.
Content may be hidden or removed when it breaks these rules or makes the platform unsafe. Test data, spam and removed accounts are not shown in the public community.
5. Privacy and stored data
CheeseVerse stores account information, password hashes, profile fields, follows, personal cheese lists, reviews, likes, helpful votes, comments, notification preferences and in-app notifications on the server so these features work across devices. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, not readable plain text.
Your username, display name, bio, reviews, comments, public list counts, follow relationships, earned badges and reputation level may be visible to other visitors. Reputation is calculated from real community activity and cannot be purchased or edited by members. Your email address, password hash and private notification inbox are not included in public API responses. Session cookies are used to keep you signed in and to protect write actions.
External services linked from CheeseVerse-including map providers, Discord, analytics, advertising, embedded social feeds and download hosts-may process data under their own policies.
6. Cheese information and health
The database is an informational community resource. Cheese characteristics vary by producer, batch, milk, aging and storage. Nutrition, pasteurisation, allergens, availability and food-safety details must be confirmed on the product label or with the producer or retailer.
CheeseVerse does not provide medical advice. People who are pregnant, immunocompromised, allergic or following a medically restricted diet should consult a qualified professional and official food-safety guidance.
7. Downloads, games and external projects
Use downloads and experimental tools at your own discretion. Check files with current security software, maintain backups and review system prompts before granting permissions. CheeseVerse does not guarantee that every separate project works on every operating system or browser.
8. Questions and reports
If you find abusive content, a security problem, an inaccurate cheese record or a broken route, contact the CheeseVerse team through the linked Discord community. Do not publish sensitive security details in a public comment.
